Mark Jordahl - Trip Leader

My philosophy around trip leading is simple:  Set up interactions between North Americans and Ugandans and then get out of the way.  While living in Uganda in 2004-2005 to do my fieldwork for my masters in Conservation Education, I was continually amazed by how wonderful the people of this country are.  I started this company so that I could continue to provide the opportunity for others to immerse themselves in this rich culture.  I am a naturalist and educator at heart, and bring both of these passions to bear on these trips.  I have been doing group leading and facilitation for about 15 years now, and the trips I have led to Uganda stand out as some of the most life-changing both for myself and the participants.  My wife (Devin Hibbard, co-founder of BeadforLife - www.beadforlife.org), our 2-year-old son Nile, and I will be moving back to Uganda in September of 2008 for an extended stay.

Ezra is a good friend, and owner of Impala Safaris (www.impalasafaris.co.ug).  We believe in supporting Ugandan business owners wherever possible, so we hire Ezra's company to provide all of our transportation and to do much of the logistics coordination.  You will find him to be one of the true highlights of the trip as he brings his smile and wisdom into our circle.
